New Year's Eve in Paris

The 2026 celebration we could verify is the free evening the Paris tourist office lists on the Champs-Élysées. The avenue from the Arc to Concorde is described as closed to traffic from 7pm, entered mainly at Place de la Concorde and also from avenues Montaigne, Matignon, and Franklin D. Roosevelt. The finale listed there is video mapping, a countdown, and fireworks. Dress for cold and rain. Strollers are discouraged, and glass bottles, alcohol, and personal fireworks are barred.

The City’s press schedule is still December 31, 2025: arrival from 7pm, mapping on the Arc from 11:50pm to 11:59pm, fireworks from midnight to 12:10am. Those times are last year’s. Do not copy them onto 2026 until the City publishes a program.

The terrace is closed by then. The Arc’s practical page lists a 4pm close on December 31, 2026, with last admission 45 minutes before closing. The elevator has been out since late July 2026 (284 steps, return date in 2027 not set). The listed show is on the avenue.

The tower is not a midnight ticket on its December guide, read October 26, 2026: open daily from 9:30am until 11:45pm, or 12:45am in the last two weeks, and on December 31 it “generally closes earlier,” around 6:30pm. Gardens and plaza are free. The guide points to the Jean Paulhan walkway for a ground-level view. Neither official page describes fireworks launched from the tower. Montmartre, Sacré-Cœur, and the bridges are absent from the 2026 listing, so this page gives them no midnight hour. On the water means a cruise.

Read the option, not the headline. On three of the four New Year’s Eve products, length or drinks do not match across the listing. None is highly reviewed. None includes a hotel pickup. Card prices are the saved from-prices.

Bateaux Mouches is the only New Year’s Eve dinner with a record: 3.83 from 23 reviews. Duration is 5 hours on the product, 2 hours 15 minutes in the inclusions, and a 3-hour cruise plus an onboard party in the option. Drinks are half a bottle of Champagne or wine per person in the inclusions, and half a bottle for two in the option. All sales are final. Start at Port de la Conférence, in the 8th. Infants and children are not in the bookable age bands. Dress is smart casual.

The other seated New Year’s Eve dinner has no reviews and names Extime Travel. The option is 4 hours 30 minutes: a 3-hour cruise with a singer, then a dockside DJ until 2:00am, so you are not on the river for the late part. Inclusions say a 5-course menu, a glass of Champagne, half a bottle of wine, and half a bottle of water. All sales are final. Meet on Promenade Édouard Glissant, in the 7th. A window table is €30 extra on the spot if one is free. Vegetarian meals are on request.

The early Diamant Bleu pick is 6pm and 2 hours 30 minutes, with no reviews and a full refund if you cancel at least 24 hours ahead. The description still says “your last dinner of 2024” and prints a foie gras and veal menu we are not calling confirmed for 2026. Drinks disagree across inclusions, description, and option (a bottle of wine for two, versus half a bottle per person). Meet at 2 Rue du Ranelagh, in the 16th. Alcohol is 18 and over.

The Bateaux Parisiens sightseeing pick leaves Port de la Bourdonnais. You get a half-bottle of Pommery, a smoked-salmon bun, a foie gras brioche, macarons, and an audio guide: a toast, not dinner. Length is 75 minutes, or “1.15 hours,” or 2 hours, depending on which line you read. It is 3.5 from 2 reviews, all sales are final, and the listing says the boat is wheelchair accessible. If those counts are the problem, take the one-hour glass of Champagne, wine, or a soft drink below. It is not a midnight table. The singer-and-DJ dinner in the picks is the meal we would book on this date.

A New Year’s Eve cruise is a different contract from a Tuesday dinner on the same river. The year-round menus, dress codes, and piers are compared in Seine dinner cruises. Several of those boats let you cancel. Three of the four New Year’s Eve listings above do not. If the date is the only thing that is special, and you want reviews, use the year-round page and pick the option that actually includes drinks.

For a cabaret instead of a boat, use Moulin Rouge tickets. That guide is show versus dinner versus a cruise combo, with the dress code and the age rule. We are not repeating a New Year’s Eve show time here. The venue’s own pages are where that night’s seating is described, and the guide already sends you to them. A cruise ticket bundled with a cabaret is often for another day, not the ride home after midnight.

RATP’s New Year page, modified January 28, 2026, says the festive plan is finished and to come back in December 2026 for a new one. The tourist office’s Champs-Élysées page adds its own transport notes, including an all-night claim. We are not repeating line numbers or a free-travel window, because the operator says the 2026 night plan is not published. Check ratp.fr again in December.

On an ordinary day the Arc page lists Metro lines 1, 2, and 6 and RER A at Charles-de-Gaulle–Étoile. That does not mean the station is open at 12:30am on December 31, 2026. None of the four New Year’s Eve listings includes a hotel pickup. They start at Port de la Conférence in the 8th, Port de la Bourdonnais and Promenade Édouard Glissant in the 7th, and Rue du Ranelagh in the 16th. Know how you will leave the pier before you pay, especially on a listing that runs until 2am and does not refund.

January 1 is a closure day at the Louvre. Its hours page, read October 26, 2026, lists closures on January 1, May 1, and December 25, and it does not list December 31 as a closure. Thursday hours, which is the pattern for December 31, 2026, are 9am to 6pm, with last entry an hour before closing. That is the museum’s standing rule, not a special holiday timetable. The Arc de Triomphe page does not list January 1 among its closure days. It does list the 4pm close on December 31. If you are still in the city after the holiday, the sales and the short days are the subject of Paris in January, not of this night.
