The Best Paris Food Tours, Compared by Neighborhood

Pick the quarter first. The Marais is flat and full. Montmartre is a hill and a meal. The Latin Quarter is the third route, not a compromise.

The best Paris food tour is the one in the neighborhood you are already going to be in, that can feed the people you are with. A Marais route and a Montmartre route are not substitutes. One is flat, Jewish-quarter falafel and cheese shops. The other climbs to Sacré-Cœur between bites. Booking the wrong hill is the mistake, not booking the wrong logo.

Below are five listings we read in full on October 25, 2026. All five cancel free until 24 hours before. None of them is a seated restaurant, and none of them is a vegan tour. If dinner on a boat is what you wanted, that comparison is the Seine dinner cruise guide, not this page.

N° 02Le Marais

Le Marais: the full meal and the tasting

Two Marais products, two jobs. Devour’s Ultimate Paris Food Tour meets and ends at 111 Rue de Turenne. It crosses the Marais, Île Saint-Louis, and the Jewish quarter. The listing is ten tastings and two wines, and it describes the walk as a full meal. The group caps at 12.

The diet language is specific, so here it is without softening. The tour is not vegan. It is not for celiac disease. It is not recommended if you are lactose intolerant. It can adapt for vegetarian, pescatarian, non-alcoholic, and pregnant guests, and not at every stop. There is an allergy waiver. If someone in the group cannot eat wheat, dairy, or a shared kitchen, this is the wrong booking even though it is the best meal of the five for everyone else.

Secret Food Tours’ Le Marais walk is the other shape. It meets at 133 Rue Saint-Antoine and stays in the Marais. You get falafel, a croissant, a croque-monsieur, cheese, a dish they do not name on the page, and red and white wine, with a non-alcoholic option. The cap is 12. Vegan and gluten-free cannot be accommodated. Ask ahead about anything else. Take this one when you want the neighborhood and you do not need Île Saint-Louis in the same afternoon.

Both are walking. Neither picks you up at the hotel. Rue de Turenne and Rue Saint-Antoine are a few minutes apart, so the meeting point is not a reason to choose. The reason is whether you want the islands and a full meal, or a single-quarter tasting.

N° 03La butte

Montmartre: two meals, one hill

Montmartre food tours end at the view because the bakeries are on the way up, not because the basilica is the lunch. Do Eat Better starts at 82 Boulevard de Clichy and finishes on the parvis of Sacré-Cœur. Plan on about three and a half hours. The group caps at 12. You eat a full meal across at least four stops, with at least one wine if you are 18 or older, water, a non-alcoholic option, and a vegetarian option. Severe allergies are refused. The guide may work in English and French. The street climbs. If someone in the party cannot do stairs and slopes, do not put them on this listing to be polite.

Eating Europe is the smaller group: maximum 10, minimum two adults, three hours, eight stops, ten food tastings and two drinks. It starts at Le Pain Quotidien on Rue Lepic and also ends at Sacré-Cœur. Tastings change. Email them about a diet. The page is not for severe allergies. Children under 4 can come and skip the food. Choose it when the group is a pair or a small family and you want the stop count written down. Choose Do Eat Better when you want the vegetarian option in the inclusions and a slightly larger group is fine.

A third Montmartre option sits on the Secret Food Tours listing, meeting at Anvers. That same product also sells Notre-Dame and the Latin Quarter from Pont Marie, and a two-hour center walk from 21 Rue des Petits Carreaux. Caps are 12, or 16 on the short option. Vegan, gluten-free, and dairy-free are all refused, and the route is not wheelchair accessible. Use it when the neighborhood is the decision and you already know the diet fits. It is the only card here with a center-of-Paris option that is explicitly two hours, which matters if you have a museum timed entry the same afternoon. Walks of the same hill that are built around the streets, rather than a meal, are in Montmartre walking tours.

N° 04Régimes

Diets, drinks, and what to book instead

None of these five is a vegan tour. Devour also rules out celiac disease and discourages lactose intolerance. Secret Food Tours rules out gluten-free and, on the multi-neighborhood listing, dairy-free. Do Eat Better and Eating Europe both refuse severe allergies. Vegetarian is named as possible on Devour and on Do Eat Better, with the Devour caveat that not every stop can change. If the table is mixed, book for the strictest diet, not the most enthusiastic eater.

Wine is part of the point and it is not mandatory on the listings that say so. Devour can pour non-alcoholic. Secret Food Tours’ Marais walk has a non-alcoholic option. Do Eat Better includes water and a non-alcoholic option, and the wine is for 18 and older. Eating Europe lists two drinks and does not spell a dry version in the lines we read, so ask. Pregnant guests are addressed only on the Devour page, and only as an adaptation, not a separate menu. If wine is the main event, a seated class is a better fit: see wine tasting in Paris.

These walks replace lunch. They do not replace a Christmas-market evening or a Champagne day. The markets are in the Christmas markets guide, and a cellar day is Champagne day trips. If the weather is the kind that makes standing in a shop doorway miserable, a museum with a guide is the other indoor plan: private Louvre tours. A dinner cruise is the seated version of “we want Paris and a meal,” and it lives on the dinner-cruise page, not as a sixth card here.

Book the quarter you will be in at noon. A Montmartre tour that starts on Boulevard de Clichy, at Anvers, or on Rue Lepic is a poor add-on to a Louvre morning. A Marais tour that ends on Rue de Turenne is a poor add-on to a sunset at Trocadéro unless you enjoy crossing the city twice. The from-price on the card is the lowest listed option and it moves with the date. Read the option. Then eat.

How to choose without regretting lunch

01

Match the diet before the neighborhood

A great Marais route that cannot feed a celiac guest is a bad booking. The limits above are copied from the listings, not guessed. If your need is not named, email the operator before you pay.

02

Montmartre means a hill

Do Eat Better and Eating Europe both finish at Sacré-Cœur. Boulevard de Clichy to the parvis is uphill. Skip them if stairs and cobbles are a problem, and stay in the Marais.

03

Do not stack a food tour on a tasting menu

These are lunches made of many stops. A dinner cruise or a long restaurant the same night is a second meal, not a complement. Pick one.

04

Arrive at the pin, not the neighborhood

111 Rue de Turenne, 133 Rue Saint-Antoine, 82 Boulevard de Clichy, Rue Lepic, Pont Marie, and Anvers are different corners. “Meet in the Marais” is how groups lose the first tasting.

05

Twenty-four hours is the real flexibility

All five let you cancel free until a day before. Use that if the group’s diet changes. Do not assume the guide can rebuild the menu at the first shop.

N° 07Good to know

Questions travelers ask

What is the best Paris food tour?

For a full meal in the Marais, Devour’s walk from Rue de Turenne, if everyone can eat wheat and dairy. For Montmartre, Do Eat Better, if the hill is fine and nobody has a severe allergy. For a simpler Marais tasting, Secret Food Tours on Rue Saint-Antoine. The best one is the neighborhood you are in, not a single winner.

Are Paris food tours vegetarian or vegan?

Vegetarian is possible on the Devour listing, not at every stop, and on Do Eat Better. None of the five tours on this page is vegan. Secret Food Tours also refuses gluten-free, and the multi-neighborhood listing refuses dairy-free. Devour is not for celiac disease and discourages lactose intolerance.

How long is a Paris food tour?

Do Eat Better is about three and a half hours. Eating Europe is three hours. Secret Food Tours has a two-hour center option and longer neighborhood routes. Devour does not print a single minute count. Treat them as lunch, not as a one-hour stop.

Do food tours include wine?

Devour includes two wines and can go non-alcoholic. The Le Marais Secret Food Tours walk includes red and white with a non-alcoholic option. Do Eat Better includes at least one wine for guests 18 and older, plus water and a non-alcoholic option. Eating Europe lists two drinks.

Is a Montmartre food tour a lot of walking?

Yes. Do Eat Better starts at 82 Boulevard de Clichy and ends at Sacré-Cœur. Eating Europe starts on Rue Lepic and ends at the same basilica. Both are uphill. The Marais walks are the flat alternative.

Can I cancel a food tour?

All five listings here refund in full if you cancel at least 24 hours before the start. Inside that window the listing’s own policy applies, and it is no longer free.

Is a food tour the same as a dinner cruise?

No. A food tour is a walk between shops and a lunch made of tastings. A dinner cruise is a seated meal on a boat. Compare boats on the Seine dinner cruise page if that is the evening you want.

Keep planning
